Novelty Gifts For Her
Choosing the right gift for her is not as difficult as it seems. These popular and unique novelty gifts are ideal presents for your girlfriend or wife. Choose a couple of cheaper gifts to make a gift pack or in addition to another gift or go for something a bit more luxurious to really make her feel special. These are my recommendations for novelty gifts for her.
What a sweet gift which you and your man can share. Tasty and fun!
Wondering what the Momiji Doll is? Yeah, me too! Apparently they are very popular and a bit of fun for young girls and the young at heart. Who'd have thought?
Soft, squishy yet super comfortable. A great novelty gift for her and one of my favourites. I've got one of the travel Cushtie's which never leaves my side, well, almost never.
Now where getting to the serious gifts. A stone therapy pack. That's what every girl needs. Don't forget if you get this for your girlfriend or wife then you'd better learn how to use it or she might not appreciate as much as she could. The gift pack includes:
- Natural tumbled river pebbles
- Stress release massage oil
- White cotton waffle cosmetic hair band
- Frosted glass relaxing fragranced candle urn
Back to the fun gifts (not that a massage can't be fun). Yes, it's true. All us girls love Sex and The City. I still watch the repeats and enjoy it as much as the first time round. The Sex and the City trivia game is a bit fun for the girls on a girls night out (when staying in).
These would have to be the best slippers in the world. Heat them in the microwave and keep your tootsies warm all winter long. Kind of ugly but does it matter when lounging around the house?
Another gift to keep the girls relaxed and happy. Why do girls love this kind of thing so much? We just love to be pampered and this kind of beauty pack will never end up sitting in the back of the cupboard gathering dust. This gift pack contains:
- Water Lily and Almond Body Polish - Gently cleanses, exfoliates & polishes the skin to a sexy sheen. A foaming scrub with crushed almond kernels, almond oil and water lily extract suspended in a moisturising gel. Effectively removes dead dry cells and stimulates circulation, to reveal fresher more radiant skin.
- Body Butter - Guys take note: everyone loves body butter. A decadent body butter loaded with moisturisers and emollients, including hydrating water lily extract and almond oil, to renew skin texture and lock in moisture, Nourishing for hungry skin and perfumed with a heady aphrodisiac water lily fragrance.
- Bathing Drench - Liquid relaxation to rejuvenate body and mind. A sumptuous bathing drench with extracts of succulent water lily to re-hydrate thirsty skin and almond oil to cleanse and soften.
- Geisha Exfoliating Towel
- Filled glass urn scented candles - Relax with a seductive fragrance.
I want one, I want one. Husband take note. I adore these bags. I must admit I have a think for casual bags like this one. I especially like the Roma courier bag although the Tokyo bag is quite tempting too. Designs include:
- London
- Amsterdam
- Havana
- NYC
- Rio
- Bronx
- Tokyo
- Roma
Everyone will fight over this hammock so you might want to get two. Hammocks are so comfortable and this fold up one can be taken anywhere; to the beach, the park, or just use in the backyard. Great for reading or an afternoon nap.
Now you've got a problem. Do you get the hammock or this sun lounge? If price is a factor you'd obviously go for the hammock but if you're looking for style then the Rodeo Garden Bed wins hands down. This garden gadget won't disappoint. It's made of water resistant materials and won't rust so it's a quality piece that will last.
Bean bags are great. They're so comfortable and are perfect watching tv, reading, or sleeping. It seems like a lot of the novelty gifts for her have a theme. Women want to relax, be pampered, and have fun. If you prefer a different kind of bean bag to this one, check out the bean bag at the bottom of that page.

Novelty Gifts For Him
Some men are easy to buy for, so long as you know which football team they support or if you know they love to play with gadgets. From my experience, men love football, gadgets, and novelty items. So if you are looking for a unique novelty gift for him then here are my recommendations.
This Football Trivia Game is a great novelty gift for the football lover. He can play with his mates over a couple (or few) beers at home or at the local pub. It comes with 300 questions on 50 cards, playing pieces, and a handy fold away board. You can even get into teams and group your knowledge when holding your very own quiz night.
Modern, stylish, functional, and under 10. What more do you want from a novelty gift. I love this so much that I'm going to get it for myself. It's similar to a Swiss Army Knife but smaller and cheaper. It has everything you need for a picnic in the park or when you're out and about an in need of a few tools. The mini jewellery screwdriver is especially handy to fix sunglasses, which I seem to need on a regular basis. The key includes:
- Serrated knife
- Flat knife
- Phillips screwdriver
- Flat head screwdriver
- Mini screwdriver
- Bottle opener
Yes, it's true. The Fisher Space Pen was created to be used in space. It can write over fingerprints, under water, upside down, on wet paper, in freezing cold (-30degreesF), extreme heat (+250degreesF) as well as in zero gravity, if you happen to be in zero gravity. Available in 5 finishes, it is a fun novelty gift for him which he can use to show off in front of his friends. Finishes include:
- Brushed chrome
- Shiny chrome
- Black and chrome
- Matte black
- Gold plated
This unusual gift is made from duct tape. Who would have thought such a cool looking wallet would be made of that? Definitely for someone who likes to be different.
The Prophopot is a teat ended bedside storage vessel for condoms. Yep, a storage container for you condoms. Get this for your man and he'll always know where his condoms are. How could he forget where he put them with this bright reminder next to the bed.
This is a gift which you could share with your man. Admire the stars or your neighbours!
Smart Trainer Heart Rate Monitor
If the guy you are shopping for is into fitness or you want to encourage him to get fit, then he would surely appreciate this gadget. It is ideal for those who go to the gym or play sport. The Smart Trainer heart rate monitor includes the following features:
- Average heart rate reading.
- Measures calories burned.
- Automatic or manually programmable hi/lo heart rate training zone.
- Automatic or manually programmable hi/lo heart rate alert when out of training zone.
- Wireless chest band.
- Clock with alarm and calendar.
- Stopwatch with count up timer.
- Hi Glo backlight.
- Water resistant to 30 metres.
This unique watch for men shows the time in binary code. It uses LED lights to indicate hours and minutes. LED ON means 1. LED OFF means 0. First row denotes the hours and second row indicates the minutes. Translation of time from binary to decimal is easy. Add the numbers of lit LEDs on upper row to tell hours. Add the numbers of lit LEDs on lower row to tell minutes. Another cool novelty gift for the guy who likes to show off with something unique and unusual. This gift is definitely unique and unusual.
I adore bean bags and the bigger the better as far as I'm concerned. I have one in my apartment and my husband and I are constantly fighting over who gets to sit on it. I really should buy another one and put an end to the bickering. This quality bean bag is hand made in the UK using natural suede. Available in chocolate and beige. Personally, I'd go for the chocolate one.
Who doesn't love a barbeque on a hot summer's day? Oh, wait, I forgot I'm not in Australia anymore and am stuck with the English weather! Luckily it works in all weather conditions, well maybe not in a storm or when it's snowing, but you could always get the umbrella out and cook up a tasty meal in the middle of winter and pretend it's hot. This is one of the best bbq's I've seen around and very reasonably priced. It's currently on special so now's the time to buy.
The Super Pen hand held scanner and translator is a great product that has some fantastic features. It's great for travellers and students and not to mention geek gadget lovers! Just scan the text you are interested in and then do whatever you like with the text. Translate it. Store it. Transfer it.
The Space Master is kind of in between binoculars and a telescope. It is used by everyone from naturalists to those who enjoy the beauty of landscapes and is perfect for viewing animals, bird watching, train spotting, and more! While this spotter is a lot of fun it is a quality piece which is the ideal gift for the serious spotter.
Modelled on the slick American pool tables, the Prestige Pool Table is superior to many of its competitors. It is full sized with adjustable feet to suit any floor. All accessories such as cues, balls, triangle and chalk are included. Great for the retro man looking for fun.

Playing Whiz Spades
I think the first time I played Whiz Spades, I completely got it wrong. I either misunderstood the rules or, most likely, just wasn't paying attention and missed the point of the game.
So in fact, each player can either bid nil or the number of spades in their hand. You make the choice. The only time you don't have a choice is if you don't have any spades; then you must bid nil. As usual the first to 500 points wins or you lose if you get to minus 200 points.
At first I thought this card game was a waste of time. I thought you'd play a few rounds and it'd be over. This is not at all the case. As it turns out Whiz Spades can go on for quite a few rounds, sometimes too many. Most of the time though, one game provides a good break and then I can go back to work feeling refreshed. I also tend to play a few games before heading to bed but I have to watch the time as it can get away from me sometimes.
In short, this is now my favourite Spades game. I rarely play any of the other versions anymore, not even the standard game. I don't know why I get so addicted to these types of free card games. It's harmless fun though. It's just to pass the time a bit without having to think too much.
Well it looks like I'm due for a break now so I'm off for a couple of hands of Whiz Spades.

Who Else Wants to Win a Trip to the USA?
Astro Bingo has announced a new bingo competition with the prize being a trip for two people to Orlando in Florida. Flights and accommodation are included in the prize. The competition will be on between the 4th October and the 24th December. They haven't given full details as yet but it's something to look out for. It looks like they are going to have a number of special deals leading up to the Christmas period so you may as well sign up for their free £5 pound offer and get in the running.
I just noticed that AstroBingo has a loyalty program. It's an incentive to keep you in the game and not to redeem your winnings. How it works is every time you make a deposit you gain points and with those points you can redeem free gifts like chocolate, champagne, and perfume. What more could a girl want? You can also redeem it for bingo money but I'd rather the gifts. Seeing it's a loyalty program you gain extra points if you don't withdraw any money from your account. Full details are available from their website.
Not much else is happening over at AstroBingo apart from the usual bingo games. They have a lot of specials at different times of the day and different days of the week but I can't keep up with them all. I just login when I feel like playing and so far have won something every time. Don't forget that they do still have their flat screen TV competition going which will be decided on the 4th October.

Win Big at AstroBingo
What I like about AstroBingo is that they are always offering new games, jackpots, and prizes. The other great thing is that it is so easy to win. I'm still playing with my free 5 pound sign up bonus which I got 3 weeks ago. Yay! I also love that you can play in different rooms at the same time so there is always something going on and always a chance to win.
They have announced a new bingo room called 2 Lil' Ducks where you can play bingo from as little as 5p per card. This is good if you don't want to spend too much or risk too much. You can play for free for ages if you stick to the 5p cards.
If you're a British or Irish resident you can play bingo for a LCD flat screen TV. You'll have to watch out for the PlayBingo button as it will only appear once or twice hourly. The card price is 35p but the prizes are pretty good. You can win bingo bucks and AstroBingo stamps. Whoever wins the most stamps wins the TV.
Don't forget all the regular afternoon and nightly specials which are too numerous to mention here! Good luck!

New Versions of Spades
I was offline for most of last week due to a fun problem with my ADSL. Thankfully it is fixed now and after logging in to play Spades was pleasantly surprised to see 3 more versions available.
Suicide Spades
One player from each team must bid nil. Success in this game really depends on having a clever team mate which is rarely the case when you play with a computer. This game is often very quick and if you do win it is often due to the other team heading deep into negative territory rather than you reaching 500 points. I really like this game even though I only win about half the time - much less often than with the standard game.
Mirror Spades
In this version of Spades each player must bid the number of spades they hold in their hand. This is really tough because if, for example, you have 6 spades but they are cards 2 to 7, chances are you'll find it tough to take 6 tricks. Another tough situation is if you have no spades and yet your hand is stacked with kings and aces. So basically to win this game you have to be pretty lucky as well as patient. Winning or losing more or less depends on the toss of a coin so it can take forever to get to 500 points. In fact, I've played the game twice and didn't complete it either time because it was taking forever. As much as I like to take a break from work, I don't have all day to play cards. I don't think I'll play this one much.
Whiz Spades
In this card game, one player must bid the number of spades they have in their hand and the other must bid nil. I think this is called Whiz Spades because you whiz through the game with an outcome after a few rounds. I don't like this because winning or losing is determined by luck. I want the way I play to determine whether I win or not but there is no chance with this game. It's really up to the draw of the cards. I've played it 3 or 4 times and that's enough for me.

Astrobingo Review
I spent a few hours last night playing Astro Bingo. It's much better than any of the other bingo websites I have used for a number of reasons. It's definitely my favourite place to play bingo online.
The signup process is very easy. Just fill in the form with your name, contact details, and date of birth. They will send you an email to validate your registration and you can then login. You don't need to download any software and your account is immediately credited with £5. You can start playing with this money straight away.
I went straight for the 75 ball bingo room and won £10 on my second game. Obviously I was pretty happy with that as it enabled me to continue playing for the rest of the night. If you are looking to chat and meet people then this is a good site to use because as soon as you enter the room you are immediately able to chat. You can chat to others or just sit back and read what they have to say as you are playing. It's up to you if you join in or not. The price of the cards vary depending on the game and the payout depends on how many other people are playing. I saw quite a few people win £25 while others won less than £1.
After a while in the 75 ball room I headed over to the 90 ball room. Again, the cost of the cards and the prize money varied. Generally if you buy 6 cards then you get 1 free. In my first game playing 90 ball bingo I won £2.87. Not bad. A few games later I won the full house game and won £11.43. So after a couple of hours of playing I still have around £15 of bingo money. You have to deposit money before you can withdraw money but I was planning on making a deposit anyway. I enjoyed chatting with everyone and of course I enjoyed winning so I'll continue to play bingo at Astro Bingo.
It's free to sign up and you don't need to give your credit card details unless you want to make a deposit.
